Craig Wilson, General Manager at Big Hearts Community Trust and Tanya Howden, Learning Experience Designer at Robotical present a project on digital skills called “Digital for all – Using the Power of Football” at the 13th EFDN Conference in Barcelona in November.
Digital for all – Using the Power of Football
Craig will summarize the work of Big Hearts in engaging with those who are the hardest to reach in their community and highlight the impact of Big Hearts’ work with a particular focus on “Digital for all” which includes a pathway to the digital skills hub delivered at the football club.
Tanya will cover the work of the Digital Skills Hub at Heart of Midlothian FC which gives all young people the opportunity to develop digital skills and be creative with technology. Using the power of sport and football as a gateway to STEM, young people are shown how their interests link to STEM subjects that they may perceive as boring or not for them. In the breakout session, they will include an opportunity for the attendees to get hands-on with some of the technology that is used in their code clubs and with groups from Big Hearts.
