Donna Hennessy – Speaker at the 22nd EFDN Conference
Foundation 92‘s Head of People, Culture, and Compliance, Donna Hennessy, will be a featured speaker at the 22nd EFDN #MoreThanFootball Conference in Leuven, Belgium, the next 20th of November. Donna brings with her a wealth of experience in football management, particularly in safegaurding and supporting a variety of people within communities.
With over a decade of involvement in the football industry, Donna has made significant contributions to Foundation 92’s efforts in advancing safeguarding and community engagement. Her career is distinguished by her dedication to create safe and inclusive spaces, which she views as foundational to football’s positive societal impact.
Reflecting on her career, among her favourite initiatives there is the Dementia Support Group, which not only aids individuals with dementia, but also provides their caregivers with much-needed respite.

Donna’s presentation, titled “The SAVES Project”, will go deep into the topic of safeguarding within football. Her talk will cover three main aspects:
- Understanding Safeguarding: building a foundational understanding of safeguarding practices and why they are essential.
- Knowing Where to Start: offering practical guidance on initiating safeguarding measures within football organisations.
- Improving Confidence in Implementation: providing tools to boost confidence among practitioners in applying safeguarding standards effectively.
