Hilton Freund – Speaker at the 19th EFDN Conference
Hilton Freund is the Chief Executive of Twinning Project and will be one of the speakers of the 19th EFDN #Morethanfootball Conference in Seville from the 20th until the 22nd of March 2023.
Hilton Freund joined the Twinning Project prior to its official launch in October 2018 and has been fundamental to the growth and success of the initiative and its international expansion. Hilton ensures a sustainable dialogue and relationship is created between the prisons and local football clubs. He also serves on the Funding Committee of the Charitable Foundation overseeing grant applications and educational benchmarking. Together with David Dein, former Vice-Chairman at Arsenal FC and the English Football Association, Hilton encourages prisons to use the social power of football. Hilton has over 20 years corporate experience, having served in senior marketing and marketing communications roles.
During the conference in Seville, Hilton Freund will present his presentation called ‘Football Based Interventions in Criminal Justice’. The presentation will showcase the successes of Twinning Project both in the UK and internationally as well as how football can engage the disengaged and encourage those traditionally resistant to education, to upskill themselves in preparation for release.
His presentation will include the following items:
- Football as a tool to reduce reoffending;
- Football as an educational provision engaging the disengaged;
- The power of football brands to change peoples lives.
