Jan Cas and Bert Ballegeer to Present Younited Belgium Programme at 14th EFDN Conference

EFDN is pleased to introduce the two speakers who will present the Belgian Pro League’s “Younited Belgium” Programme at the 14th edition of the EFDN Conference: Jan Cas and Bert Ballegeer.

Cas is in his first year as Football & Community Manager in the Pro League. He has extensive academic and professional experience in the field of CSR in sports, specifically on the effects of sports on long-sentenced prisoners in Belgium. He will play an active role in the establishment of a strong CSR strategy in Belgian professional football.

Ballegeer joined Younited Belgium in 2009. Under his leadership, the organisation has grown from a few local initiatives to a truly national operation that brings together all professional teams in Belgium that believe in the social power of football.

Together, Cas and Ballegeer will present Younited Belgium, a partnership between the Pro League and the Younited Belgium organisation that uses football to promote the reintegration of vulnerable adults in Belgian society. People struggling with issues such as housing, mental health, poverty or addiction join a Younited team, which is born from another partnership between Younited and each professional football club in the country.
