Joris Meeuwsen – Speaker at the 19th EFDN Conference
Joris Meeuwsen, a Project manager Sustainability and Good governance at EFDN, is a confirmed speaker at our 19th EFDN #Morethanfootball Conference in Seville from the 20th until the 22nd of March 2023.
Joris Meeuwsen is a Project manager Sustainability and Good governance at EFDN, using sport as a vehicle to make an impact and not as a goal. Through the CSR projects at EFDN, Joris has seen what can be achieved in society through sport. He enjoys working in the social and sustainability branch of sport and would like to take the lead in achieving more in society.
During the conference in Seville, Joris Meeuwseen and Marc Vallverdú Gordi from ECOSERVEIS will present the SDG Striker Project called ‘SDG STRIKER: Scoring goals for sustainability’. The presentation will show the best practices for implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in clubs, football federations, and other sports organizations, using the examples of the Portugal Football Federation, the Scottish Football Federation, and the Norwegian Football Federation. The session will allow the attendants to discuss and reflect on the barriers and opportunities in their own sports organization regarding the installation of photovoltaic panels, the substitution of plastic-based turf infill, and the implementation of measures for energy efficiency.
Their presentation will include the following items:
- Presentation of the SDG Striker project
- Presentation of examples of good sustainability practices in sports organizations through the three project pilots
- Discussion and debate about barriers and opportunities in the implementation of good sustainability practices
