Katinka Dijkstra – Speaker at the 19th EFDN Conference
Katinka Dijkstra, a professor in the Department of Psychology, Education and Child Studies at Erasmus University Rotterdam, is a confirmed speaker at our 19th EFDN #Morethanfootball Conference in Seville from the 20th until the 22nd of March 2023. She will participate in the FAIR-play project on Wednesday, together with Ruben Koenes of Feyenoord Rotterdam and Henrik Oesau of SV Werder Bremen.
Katinka Dijkstra is a professor in the Department of Psychology, Education and Child Studies. Her research focuses, among others, on cognitive enhancement through body-related manipulations and online training interventions. She has also been involved in the FAIR-play project, Football for Adolescents to Increase Resiliency which is a programme for Life-skills And Youth, together with Feyenoord, Werder Bremen, Inter Milano, Hibernian, and Charlton.
Katinka works together with Ruben Koenes and Henrik Oesau. Ruben Koenes is the Research & Development Coordinator at the Social Affairs department of Feyenoord Rotterdam. In this role, he is responsible for designing and managing impact research. He fulfils these tasks partly in collaboration with the Erasmus University Rotterdam. Henrik Oesau is a CSR manager at Werder Bremen. Henrik joined Werder Bremen to coordinate sports offers for refugees and he is now responsible for fundraising, impact management and international CSR projects.
During the conference in Seville, Katinka Dijkstra will present ‘FAIR-Play: How the power of football and academic insights can be combined to promote resilience in youth’. The presentation will report the main results of the FAIR-play project, which stands for Football for Adolescents to increase resiliency: a programme for life skills and youth. and included Feyenoord, Werder Bremen, Inter Milano, Hibernian and Charlton.
