Mirek Krogulec – Speaker at the 21st EFDN Conference
Mirek Krogulec, Vice President of Special Olympics Europe and Eurasia, is a confirmed speaker at our 21st EFDN #MoreThanFootball Conference in Warsaw from the 22nd until the 24th of April 2024.
Mirek Krogulec, Vice President of Special Olympics Europe and Eurasia, is responsible for sport development in Special Olympics across Europe and Central Asia region. Over the past 20 years, he has developed and run significat number of international sporting projects and fostered relationships with key European and international partners and supporters (EU, UEFA, FIBA, EFDN). Mirek makes a substantial contribution towards successful organization of hundreds of European competitions, and several global sporting events for people with intellectual disabilities.
During the conference Mirek Krogulec will hold a presentation on Special Olympics Football, that is about wide participation for players with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). The uniqness of Special Olympics is via divisioning, that ensure competitions are its equaly open for low level of abilities, as to higher ability players in Unified Football teams. Football is a powerful educational tool of social inclusion to over 100,000 players with ID accorss Europe, via trainings in schools, in sports clubs, in local neighborhoods, as well as promote healthy lifestyle and inclusive communities.
