Recap – Day 3 of EFDN’s Making Football Matter Conference in Athens!
We started our third conference day with perfect sunny weather in Athens. The day started with a ‘Women in Football’ panel led by Vicky Conde Sancho from EFDN. The panel brought the audience the opportunity to hear about successful stories from women working in the football industry, more precisely working in different management roles across different football institutions.
Before everyone headed to lunch, we had among others a break-out session by Isabelle Pitt, Jayna Patel and Lizzie Adams on behalf of the Premier League and two inspiring presentations of Manchester City in the Community and the River Plate Foundation. Sam and Rachel of City in the Community explained their three-year strategy, including their purpose, approach and values. Luis Orlandi, River Plate Foundation, gave us more information about their foundation model, their mission and values, information about where they develop their programmes and some of the history and programmes of the River Plate Foundation.
After our last presentation for today, it was again time for the break-out sessions this time from: Chelsea FC Foundation, Big Hearts Community Trust and NBS EduWorld. All facilitated at the same time for everyone.
After the break-out sessions, to give the closing remarks for the 20th EFDN Making Football Matter Conference our operational manager, Hanna Kernkamp, came to the main stage. She gave her remarks about the conference and thanked every speaker and delegate for participating in the conference. Lastly, she thanked our host AEK Athens FC for the 20th Conference in the OPAP Arena.
