Richard McBrearty to present Football Memories Scotland
Project Director from Football Memories Scotland, Richard McBrearty, will be presenting about the programme 10 years on, at the 14th EFDN #Morethanfootball Conference.
Richard has been employed by the Scottish Football Museum for the past 21 years, holding the post of Curator since 2004. Also, he has been involved with the Football Memories programme since its inception in 2009 and for the past two years has held the post of Project Director. Key aspects of this post include developing new reminiscence resources to sustain the programme, liaising with stakeholders and partners at local, regional and national level, strategic planning and developing reminiscence training programmes.
Beyond 10 years – the story of Football Memories Scotland
It is now 11 years since the launch of the original pilot project and Football Memories Scotland today has 230 affiliated groups across Scotland. Richard will briefly touch upon the journey of the last 11 years and will look at their future plans; from the new role as a UEFA EURO 2020 legacy partner to exciting new partnerships in Scotland and internationally. The presentation will also focus on the reminiscence resources that have been created over the past few years and, of course, will explore the huge challenges caused by Covid-19 and the expansion of their digital platforms.
