14th EFDN “#Morethanfootball” Conference in Breda – Save the date
EFDN is proud to announce our 14th EFDN “#Morethanfootball” Conference. The Conference will be hosted by NAC Breda at the Rat Verlegh Stadium in Breda on the 24th and 25th of March 2020. We are expecting more than 150 representatives of European football clubs, leagues, football associations, governing bodies and other stakeholders.
The 14th EFDN Conference will include presentations and breakout sessions from experts and leaders in the field of CSR in European football, and they will present their innovative work and share their opinion on current & future trends. It is currently three months until the opening of the conference, but the first speakers of the programme have already been confirmed.
FUNDRAISING, YOUTH STRATEGY AND WOMEN’S FOOTBALL
Everton in the Community will introduce their youth strategy and a project that should prevent grooming. The project hopes to teach young players how to conduct themselves appropriately on the internet and how to keep themselves safe. Brentford FC Community Trust will provide the attendees with an insight into its fundraising strategy. Together with the club, the trust won the ‘Football League Community Club of the Year’ award four times and has cemented its reputation as a community-led football club. There will be also at least one panel discussion, where EFDN and experts from other clubs and organisations will discuss the development of women’s football and the implementation of CSR programmes targeting girls and women.
INSPIRING STUDY VISITS
As well as having to opportunity to attend these engaging presentations, the attendees will also be able to take part in study visits. NAC Breda currently delivers programmes on education, prevention of violence, social cohesion, physical activity and also has a Walking Football team. Project managers and community coaches will have the possibility to share their experiences, to show best practices and to explain which challenges they face in the day-to-day delivery and how they manage to overcome these.
#MORETHANFOOTBALL ACTION WEEKS
The 14th EFDN conference will initiate the kick-off of the 2020 #Morethanfootball Action Weeks that will run until the 16th of April. The first day of the conference will see the official launch of the campaign that reached more than 33 million people online in 2019. This global campaign is a great occasion for the football community to showcase the impact of their CSR activities and programmes on their communities. By using #Morethanfootball, clubs and their charities can engage with fans and stakeholders and raise awareness for the transformative role European football clubs can play in changing peoples’ lives for the better.
