Enabling Fan-led Climate Action
This presentation looks at how football clubs can play a catalytic role in the climate crisis by enabling their fans to take action. Research already completed by a consortium of EFDN clubs, with the think tank Tasc, as part of the Football for Climate Justice project, has indicated that fans want their clubs to be part of developing community solutions and that in many instances fans trust clubs more than their local or national decision-makers. This unique and privileged position of influence can be put to work, creating solutions that are good for the planet and the fans. This workshop will offer a chance for interested clubs to find out how to get involved in the next project – Climate Captains!
