Study visits at the 16th EFDN Conference
At the 16th EFDN Conference which will be taking place in Breda, the Netherlands from the 8th until the 10th of November 2021, attendees will have the opportunity to take part in 4 different study visits delivered by our host NAC Breda.
The hosting club is currently delivering programmes on education, prevention of violence, social cohesion, physical activity and has also a Walking Football team. During the 4 live project sessions, project managers and community coaches share their experiences, show best practices and explain which challenges they face in the day-to-day delivery and how they manage to overcome them.

Playing for Success
Playing for Success Breda is an after-school programme for children who temporarily do not perform as they are expected for socially emotional reasons. The project focuses on 11 to 12 years old kids and on young people from the secondary vocational school. The after-school sessions take place in the Rat Verlegh Stadium, where the kids find a motivating & challenging environment and they can get as many positive learning experiences as possible. Within the NACACADEMY facilities, the kids can have fun learning in areas such as arithmetic, language, IT and social skills. These assignments, combined with the stadium atmosphere, contribute to an environment that encourages better performances. As soon as children discover that learning can be fun and useful, school performance increases and they regain their motivation and confidence.
Community Champions League
The Community Champions League is an EFDN project in partnership with nine community-engaged football clubs from the Netherlands, England, Scotland, Norway, Portugal, Hungary, Belgium and Germany. NAC Breda, Feyenoord, Aberdeen FC, Chelsea FC, Club Brugge, SV Werder Bremen, Vålerenga Fotball, Ferencvarosi TC and SL Benfica deliver the Pan-European programme in collaboration with EFDN.
The Community Champions League is a social street football competition organised locally in nine cities in eight different European countries, where the participating teams can win more points through Fair-Play, Fair Support and Volunteering in community activities than by winning their street football matches.
Walking Football
Walking Football is simply football without running. Playing the game at a more feasible pace eliminates barriers and provides greater accessibility to the sport. It is available for participants who wish to continue to engage in football, but who may have previously been forced to stop playing the game they love due to age or injury. Walking Football and other forms of Walking Sport have become an increasingly popular form of physical activity and sport participation in Europe.
Nobody Offside
Nobody Offside is a programme organised by NAC Breda and the ATEA Group. The 3-months project offers job seekers the opportunity to gain work experience in the inspiring environment of the Rat Verlegh Stadium. During the course of three months, several candidates gain professional skills in the facilities of NAC Breda.
Next to working at stadium, the participants receive courses and coaching sessions in the NACADEMY. Additionally, the group receives guidance from the ATEA Group to ensure that the participants no longer are depending on unemployment benefits.
